Cyclist Charged in Collision with Car

(Fergus, ON.) – On Saturday September 19th, 2009 at about 11:45am County of Wellington OPP responded to a reported collision involving a car and cyclist.

 
Officers located the collision on Beattie Line at Kitchener Ave, Fergus. Police spoke to witnesses and the involved drivers to investigate this crash. The 2001 Honda Prelude, driven by Paul Haefling aged 68 of Elora was northbound on Beattie line while the cyclist was southbound. The cyclist had difficulty seeing traffic due to the bright sunshine and turned to go east onto Kitchener Ave, striking the side of the Honda. The cyclist was knocked down and was treated at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus for a broken hand.
 
 

The cyclist, Terry Manning aged 65 years of Guelph has been charged with Turn Not in Safety under the Highway traffic Act.
